In these increasingly depressing times it is very easy to feel completely powerless about our current situation here on earth. We feel like we are just little ants being tortured by a huge magnifying glass above us, with no real ability to fix the many issues surrounding us.

This is not the first time a single species has had such a huge impact on our planet.
Our beautiful blue planet actually used to be purple!

Then along came a tiny single celled organism called cyanobacteria, releasing enormous quantities of oxygen into our atmosphere and changing our world forever into its current, human friendly, blue version.

Unlike the cyanobacteria we as humans are slightly further along in the evolutionary process and therefore not only do we have the means to measure the changes occurring to our planet but also the power to prevent any catastrophic changes before they occur.

For the first time in history a single species can consciously decide its own fate.

We have the power to destroy the planet or save it - the choice is ours to make.

The real question is - as a species, do humans have the intelligence and compassion to stop this exponential selfishness before the earth and therefore humanity crashes?
